Ryft — Support & Updates Policy

Last updated: October 6, 2026

Effective date: October 6, 2026

This Support & Updates Policy (the "Policy") describes the support and software updates provided with Ryft (the "Software"), sold from ryftapi.com by Ryft Security, LLC, a limited liability company formed in Virginia, USA ("Ryft", "we", "us", or "our"). It forms part of and is incorporated into our Terms of Service and End User License Agreement (the "License Terms"). Capitalized terms not defined here have the meaning given in the License Terms. Ryft is sold for professional and business use only.

1. What is included with an active license

1.1. A valid, unexpired Ryft license (a one-time purchase covering a one-year license term, per device / per install) includes, for the duration of that term:

(a) Email support for the Software, provided at support@ryftapi.com; and

(b) Product updates to the Software that we choose to release during your license term, as described in Section 3.

1.2. Support and updates are benefits of an active license. When a license expires, these benefits end as described in Section 6. There is no separate maintenance fee and no auto-renewal; to continue receiving support and updates you purchase a new one-year license.

1.3. Support and updates are provided on a best-effort basis. We do not offer, and nothing in this Policy creates, a paid support plan, a premium support tier, a service-level agreement, or an uptime or availability guarantee.

2. Support channels and response targets

2.1. Channel. The support channel for Ryft is email at support@ryftapi.com. We may also publish self-service documentation, release notes, or an in-application user guide; these are provided for convenience and are not a substitute for, or a guarantee of, individualized support.

2.2. Scope of support requests we can help with. Support covers installation, activation and licensing, download and delivery issues, and questions about and problems with the Software's own features and behavior.

2.3. Best-effort response targets. We aim to acknowledge support emails within a reasonable time during our normal working days. Any response time we mention, anywhere, is a good-faith target, not a commitment or guarantee. Response and resolution times vary with volume, complexity, and the information you provide.

2.4. No SLA / no uptime guarantee. We expressly do not provide any service-level agreement, guaranteed response or resolution time, guaranteed availability, or uptime commitment, for support or for the Software or any related website service. Support is provided "as is" and "as available".

2.5. Helping us help you. To get the fastest resolution, please include the email address used at purchase, your operating system and version, your Ryft version, a clear description of the problem, and the steps to reproduce it. Do not send us your testing data, captured traffic, scan findings, credentials, or confidential target information; we do not need them and do not want to receive them.

3. What "updates" means

3.1. "Updates" means bug fixes, maintenance releases, security patches, and feature updates to the Software that we, in our sole discretion, make generally available to licensed users during your license term. Updates are delivered through the Software's update mechanism and/or as downloads from our Site.

3.2. No obligation to deliver specific features. We do not promise that any particular update, feature, improvement, fix, or roadmap item will be developed, released, or released within any timeframe. Descriptions of planned or future functionality are statements of intent only, are not commitments, and may change or be withdrawn at any time. Your purchase decision should be based on the Software as it exists at the time of purchase, not on anticipated future functionality.

3.3. Upgrades vs. updates. Updates provided under an active license are to the Ryft product you licensed. We may, separately, offer new major versions, add-ons, or distinct products that are not included in your current license and that require a new or additional purchase. Whether a given release is an included update or a separate paid offering is determined by us.

3.4. Updates are subject to the same License Terms as the originally licensed Software. Installing an update does not extend your license term or change its per-device scope or expiry date.

4. Supported platforms

4.1. Ryft is a desktop application that runs locally and is supported on macOS, Windows, and Linux.

4.2. Supported minimum operating-system versions: macOS 12 or later; Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit); and a modern 64-bit Linux distribution with a current glibc. Operating systems, versions, and hardware outside our supported configurations may not run the Software correctly, and we may be unable to provide support for them. We may change supported platforms and minimum versions in future releases, including dropping support for operating-system versions that their own vendors no longer support.

4.3. Because Ryft runs entirely on your own device, installation and operation depend on your environment (operating system, permissions, security software, network, and the way the local proxy certificate authority is installed and trusted on your machine). We provide best-effort guidance but cannot guarantee operation in every environment.

5. What support does and does not cover

5.1. Support covers Ryft itself — the Software and its licensing, activation, delivery, and features.

5.2. Support does not cover your use of the Software against any target. We do not provide support for, advise on, or take any responsibility for: the systems, applications, APIs, or networks you test; whether you are authorized to test them; interpretation of findings against your specific targets; the configuration or security of your targets; or the conduct or results of any security testing engagement. You are solely responsible for ensuring you have proper authorization for all testing and for all consequences of using the Software. These responsibilities, and the authorized-use-only requirements, are set out in the License Terms and apply in full.

5.3. Ryft is a security-testing tool. Its scanner performs a range of active checks but does not find all vulnerabilities, and its results may include false positives and false negatives. Support does not include any warranty as to the completeness or accuracy of scan results.

5.4. We are not obligated to provide support for problems caused by: modified, tampered-with, or unofficially obtained copies of the Software; use outside the License Terms or in violation of applicable law; third-party software, plugins, or scripts; or your hardware, operating system, or network issues unrelated to the Software.

6. What happens when a license lapses

6.1. A license is valid for its one-year term. When the term ends and is not replaced by a new purchase, the license expires.

6.2. On expiry, you stop receiving product updates and email support, and the Software may stop functioning or may limit functionality in accordance with the License Terms. Continued licensed use requires a new one-year license. This Section is intended to be, and will be read, consistently with the License Terms; if there is any conflict regarding post-expiry behavior of the Software, the License Terms govern.

6.3. Expiry does not entitle you to a refund of any kind; see the Refund & Sales Policy.

7. End of life and discontinuation

7.1. We may, at our discretion, discontinue the Software, a platform, a version, or this support and update program, in whole or in part, at any time.

7.2. Discontinuation does not, by itself, entitle you to a refund. For a license that is active at the time of discontinuation, we will use reasonable efforts to allow you to continue using the version you have for the remainder of your then-current license term, subject to technical feasibility and to the License Terms, but we do not guarantee ongoing updates, support, or compatibility after a discontinuation announcement.

7.3. After end of life, support and updates for the affected Software, platform, or version may cease entirely.

8. Relationship to other terms and disclaimers

8.1. This Policy is provided subject to, and does not expand, the warranties, disclaimers, and limitations of liability set out in the License Terms. The Software, support, and updates are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent permitted by law. Nothing in this Policy creates any warranty, guarantee, certification, audit status, insurance, or service level that is not expressly stated in the License Terms.

8.2. Nothing in this Policy excludes, restricts, or modifies any right or remedy that applies to you under applicable law and that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted, or modified.

9. Changes to this Policy

9.1. We may update this Policy from time to time. The current version is always available on the Site, and the "Last updated" date above indicates when it was most recently revised.
