Unsigned app. macOS blocks it on first launch — open System Settings → Privacy & Security and click Open Anyway. Full steps ↓
No OS warning — installs normally. Install command ↓
macOS first launch, in full: Ryft isn't notarized yet, so macOS blocks it the first time. Double-click Ryft — it gets blocked — then open System Settings → Privacy & Security, scroll down to the "Ryft was blocked" message and click Open Anyway, then confirm with Open. You only need to do this once. (On macOS Sequoia the old right-click → Open shortcut no longer works — use Open Anyway.)
Still blocked? Clear the quarantine flag from Terminal: xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/Ryft.app
Running on Linux: install the downloaded package — sudo apt install ./Ryft-latest-amd64.deb (or sudo dpkg -i <file>; sudo apt-get install -f) — then launch Ryft from your apps or run ryft.
